This is a project where we had to deal with redesigning on the California School for the Deaf, Riverside Athletics website. On this website, there were problems with translation, the mega menu, the collection filter, and metafields. Due to these issues, the website resulted in poor user experience and terrible customer conversions.

CSDR Athletics offers sports opportunities to students in Grades 3-12 year-round. The primary purpose of the athletic program at CSDR is to promote ethical, physical, social, emotional, and overall well-being of the student-athletes.

Issues: Client Side

According to the client, many problems were going on with the website, but none were that major. These are some basic lacking on the website that we were appointed to fix. 

• The website has translation issues where most of the website can’t be web accessibility capable. It posed a huge problem, especially for the users everywhere.
• Another primary concern with the website is uncompleted by the staff on premises. It’s not functioning correctly and needs some customization to fix the problem.
• There was no features to list teams’ schedules, pictures and rosters.
• History of all sports are missing including wall of champions.
• Documents and Forms for parents of athletes were missing.
• FanZone and social media linkings were needed.

What we have done on this project

• First, we redesigned the theme according to CSDR color schemes and logo. Focused on layout for elementary, middle school and high school sports.
• Secondly, we fed in all content and data going back to 1958 to present for wall of champions of league, national, state and more. 
• Afterward, we focused on setting up mega menu to link all pages and made sure it is all responsive on all the devices.

Result

After working on the project for two months, here’s what we were able to achieve. We handed over the website with the results:

• Everything were added according to client’s request
• The mega menu is functioning correctly now
• All history data of sports documented
• All teams picture, schedule, and roster are fed in
• Web accessibility has been added
• News section with hero sliders were installed
• Social Media and link back to school’s website inserted
